Helping Make Dreams Come True![]() St. Jude Dream Home Raises More than $800,000
Nearly 100% was donated by Covington Homes and their trade partners On June 10 the winners of the Colorado Springs St. Jude Dream Home were picked. Trina and Leo, a newlywed couple who currently live in Pueblo, are the lucky new home owners, and this isn't the first time St. Jude has impacted their lives. Leo's daughter was a patient at St. Jude when she was 3 years old. She is now 27 and cancer-free. See the KKTV news story. At the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, families never receive a bill for the treatment their child receives. Because when a child is fighting for their life, the last thing a family should have to worry about is how to pay for the medicals bills. The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has world- renowned scientists who work tirelessly to pursue cures for cancer. The annual St Jude Dream Home giveaway plays a huge part in raising funds for the the Research Hospital. Covington Homes was given the honor of being chosen as this year's Dream Home Builder in Southern Colorado, and is truly honored to be part of this cause. Owners Grace and Ron Covington are active supporters of many local child welfare and advocacy charities in the community. So when the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital approached them about being the St. Jude Dream Home Builder in Colorado Springs they accepted with enthusiasm. Because every Covington Homes’ trade partner stepped up with donations, this year’s Dream Home is nearly 100% donated, meaning that all proceeds (less any costs not donated) go directly to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Covington Homes held volunteer days to help out the trade partners who were building the home. The volunteers included the Covington Homes Team, Covington homeowners, Realtors, HBA Cares, Mitchell Heating, People’s bank, iMortgage, and J&M Cleaning, and other trade partners. Volunteers helped with everything from plumbing to unloading furniture to landscaping. The HBA of Colorado Springs would like to thank Covington Homes and everyone who helped raise money for this great cause. |
