The HBA Board has voted to support school district measures for Districts 11 & 20:
The HBA PAC endorsed candidates for El Paso County Commissioner, State Senate and State House positions:
- El Paso County Commissioner District 3 - Stan VanderWerf WON with 53.2% of the vote
- El Paso County Commissioner District 4 - Longinos Gonzalez Jr. WON with 62.1% of the vote
- State Senate District 10 - Owen Hill WON with 66.3% of the vote
- State Senate District 12 - Bob Gardner WON with 75.6% of the vote
- State House District 14 - Dan Nordberg WON with 72.5% of the vote
- State House District 16 - Larry Liston WON with 72% of the vote
- State House District 17 - Catherine "Kit" Roupe Lost with 41.6% of the vote
- State House District 19 - Paul Lundeen WON with 79.7% of the vote
- State House District 20 - Terri Carver WON with 64.2% of the vote
- State House District 21 - Lois Landgraf WON with 68.9% of the vote
Statewide Ballot Measures
The Housing & Building Association recommends the following voting positions on these ballot initiatives:
- Amendment 69 - State Health Care System (ColoradoCare) - OPPOSE Failed by 79.4%
- Amendment 70- State Minimum Wage - OPPOSE Passed with 54.6%
- Amendment 71- Requirements for Constitutional Amendments - SUPPORT Passed with 56.4%
School District Ballot Measures
The HBA Board has voted to support school district measures for Districts 11 & 20:
- District 11 - What seeking: A $32.6 million mill levy override and a $235 million bond issue. The override would be phased in and generate $15 million in 2017 and increase annually to $32.6 million in 2024. The bond issue would not increase property taxes. FAILED
- District 20 - What seeking: A $230 million bond issue. PASSED
