The HBA of Colorado Springs supports programs and partners with agencies to encourage workforce development in the local construction industry. The following are ways that HBA is helping to build a stronger, more skilled workforce in the Pikes Peak region.
CAREERS IN CONSTRUCTION
Careers in Construction is HBA's non-profit workforce development program that gives local high school students pathways to success in the building trades or beyond, whether they choose a trade school, a traditional college, or direct employment. With sustained funding, the program will help to grow a skilled workforce within the construction industry, as well as offer a promising future for young adults in our community.
CONSTRUCTION CAREERS NOW
The Construction Careers Now program - workforce development initiative of Associated General Contractors and Colorado Contractors Association - consists of a four-week Introduction to Construction Careers curriculum at the Emily Griffith Technical College. During the third week of the students will attend a hiring fair and meet numerous “eager to hire” construction contractors with career opportunities available now in the trade of your choice. Read a related article on the program.
Upcoming hiring fairs: Sept. 29, Oct. 27, Dec. 8.
