At-Large representative to the Community Corrections Board (CCB).
Colorado Springs, CO, March 6, 2013 – The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking a community-minded citizen volunteer to serve as an At-Large representative to the Community Corrections Board (CCB). Applications for the open position are due by April 5, 2013.
The CCB advises the Board of County Commissioners on community-based and community-oriented programs that provide supervision of offenders being diverted from prison and those transitioning back into the community after prison. At-Large members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms and are limited to serving two consecutive terms.

Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC).
Colorado Springs, CO, March 6, 2013 – The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking a community-minded citizen volunteer to serve as El Paso County’s representative to the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments (PPACG) Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). Applications for the open position are due by April 5, 2013.
The CAC is an advisory committee to the PPACG Board of Directors on matters affecting regional transportation, air and water quality, and military impact planning. Members are appointed citizen representatives from local governments in the Pikes Peak region, community-based organizations that are granted memberships at the discretion of PPACG as well as the general citizen-at-large membership, which is open to the public. The CAC meets monthly on the last Wednesday of the month at 3:00 p.m. in PPACG’s lower-level conference room.

Board of Adjustment
Colorado Springs, CO, March 13, 2013 – The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve as members and associate members on the Board of Adjustment.
Applications for the open positions are due by April 5, 2013.
The Board of Adjustment hears and decides on issues of physical variances related to the county zoning code. Variance requests may include changes to dimensions, structural location, bulk limitations or other development requirements. The Board of County Commissioners appoints four persons, not more than two of whom may at any time be members of the El Paso County Planning Commission, to serve as members and appoints no fewer than three and no more than seven persons to serve as associate members on the Board of Adjustment. Members are appointed for three-year terms and may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. Associate members are appointed for one-year terms and may serve a maximum of six consecutive terms.

Citizen Outreach Group
Colorado Springs, CO, March 27, 2013 -The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking a community-minded citizen volunteer to serve as an At-Large member on the Citizen Outreach Group. Applications for the open position are due by April 19, 2013.
The Citizen Outreach Group is an advisory board created by the El Paso County Board of Commissioners to reach out to county residents and encourage open communication between citizens and their commissioners. It consists of 11 to 15 citizen representatives: up to 10 citizen commissioner district representatives with a maximum of two representatives from each of the county’s five commissioner districts, with the balance of citizen representatives selected from the community at large. Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms and may not serve more than three consecutive terms.

CSU Extension Advisory Committee
Colorado Springs, CO, March 27, 2013 – The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve on the CSU Extension Advisory Committee. Applications for the open positions are due by April 19, 2013.
Two 4-H representatives, a Food and Nutrition representative (knowledge in food safety and nutrition), two Family and Consumer Science representatives (experience/knowledge of nutrition and family relations), an Agricultural representative, a Horticultural representative, and two Community-at-Large representatives are needed on the committee.
The CSU Extension Advisory Committee promotes, advocates, and supports the county Cooperative Extension programs and staff by developing and implementing a strong marketing strategy that results in educating community officials and providing information flow between county citizens and Cooperative Extension. It consists of 12 members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms. Two each representing Youth Development (4-H), Family and Consumer Science, Agriculture, Horticulture/Natural Resources, general community concerns, and Nutrition Education Programs.

El Paso County Planning Commission
Colorado Springs, CO, April 9, 2013 – The El Paso County Board of Commissioners is seeking community-minded citizen volunteers to serve as associate members on the Planning Commission.
Applications for the open positions are due by April 26, 2013.
The Planning Commission reviews planning petitions and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on land use requests, and prepares a master plan for unincorporated areas of the county.
It consists of nine regular members and three associate members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Associate members are appointed for one-year terms and may be reappointed for an indefinite number of terms.
