City of Colorado Springs

Historic Preservation Board
Acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council in implementing the Historic Preservation program for the city. This Board initiates the Historic Preservation Overlay Zone and administers the review of building or demolition permits for properties that are zoned Historic Preservation, among other responsibilities.

Highway Advisory Committee (deadline 4/24/17)
The Highway Advisory Commission reviews and comments on issues relating to the management and operation of the Transportation Division and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. Highway Advisory Commissioners must demonstrate an active interest in the goals and objectives of the Transportation Division, and be willing to work with other members to achieve the goals and objectives and help resolve problems. The commission consists of nine members who are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for three-year terms. Commission meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 9:00 am at 2880 International Circle, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Highway Advisory Commission is currently seeking one new member to represent Districts 3.

Planning Commission (open until filled)
The Planning Commission is a volunteer commission of seven members appointed by the Board of Trustees. The Planning Commission meets once a month to make recommendations on land use applications and land use related ordinances before they are heard by the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees of the Town of Monument is accepting applications for a Planning Commissioner and two Alternate Planning Commissioners. To qualify, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have lived within the Town of Monument for at least the last 12 consecutive months, and be a U.S. citizen. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Monument Town Hall, 645 Beacon Lite Road, Monument, CO.
