Urban Renewal Authority Board (Deadline August 31)
Mayor John Suthers is seeking applicants to fill a vacant position on the Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority Board. Due to a vacancy effective September 1, 2017, this volunteer position will be a four and a half year term as a member of a citizen board of commissioners with a time commitment of about four hours per month, to begin ASAP. The Board meets the fourth Wednesday of each month. Preferred applicants will have a background in strategic planning, financial analysis, community involvement, and knowledge of real estate; familiarity with the City’s Development Review Process is desirable. Highway Advisory Commission (Deadline September 15)
The Highway Advisory Commission reviews and comments on issues relating to the management and operation of the Transportation Division and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. Highway Advisory Commissioners must demonstrate an active interest in the goals and objectives of the Transportation Division, and be willing to work with other members to achieve the goals and objectives and help resolve problems. Commission meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 9:00 am at 2880 International Circle, Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Highway Advisory Commission is currently seeking one new Associate Members and one District 3 Representative.
