City of Colorado Springs

Fire Board of Appeals
Fire Board of Appeals is a comprehensive committee of seven business professionals who are dedicated to the City of Colorado Springs’ requirements as outlined in City Code Section 8.3.101-8.3.104. The requisite members serve three (3) year terms. Fire Board of Appeals provides professional, unbiased rulings for appellants requesting variance to the Fire Prevention Code and its interpretations. Fire Board of Appeals reviews and grants fire suppression contractor licenses, fire alarm contractor licenses, and fire alarm installer licenses. Committee members of Fire Board of Appeals are integral in the public policy process. The city of Colorado Springs is searching for a small business representative. Fire Board of Appeals meets the second Friday of each month at 8:30 AM at the Pikes Peak Regional Development Center at 2880 International Circle in the upstairs hearing room.
Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Advisory Board (deadline May 26)
The City of Colorado Springs is seeking volunteers (two seated positions and alternates) to serve on the Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Advisory Board. Members of the board advise City Council on matters pertaining to the planning, development, improvement, beautification, equipping, and maintaining of public parks, playgrounds, programs, urban forest, recreation facilities and resources, including golf courses and center street parking. Meetings are held the second Thursday of every month at 7:30 AM.

Planning Commission (open until filled)
The Planning Commission is a volunteer commission of seven members appointed by the Board of Trustees. The Planning Commission meets once a month to make recommendations on land use applications and land use related ordinances before they are heard by the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees of the Town of Monument is accepting applications for a Planning Commissioner and two Alternate Planning Commissioners. To qualify, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have lived within the Town of Monument for at least the last 12 consecutive months, and be a U.S. citizen. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at Monument Town Hall, 645 Beacon Lite Road, Monument, CO.
