REGULATORY
Representatives from the Regional Building Department participate with HBA members in discussing items related to everyday operations at RBD, items of general interest, concerns of the building industry, and the building codes and proposed revisions.

Reviews land development/building issues in the city and county – zoning subdivision, planning, criteria, fees, ordinances, etc.

Representatives from Colorado Springs Utilities participate with HBA members attending in discussions regarding development-related issues – including costs, material specs., timing, regulations, etc.

This committee discusses issues affecting the industry in the city of Fountain.

- Meeting Time: Quarterly, 2nd month of the quarter on the 3rd Thursday at 3:00 at Monument Town Hall.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE (PAC)
The Political Action Committee (PAC) of the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs supports the Association in the political process to position the Association as a strong and influential organization by helping to elect candidates to local and state offices that are advocates for private property rights, are pro business, free market, and advocates for a growing vibrant community.

PAC GOLF COMMITTEE
Members plan and organize the annual PAC golf tournament including site, schedule, meals, prizes, sponsorships, putting contests, etc. This is a major fundraiser for PAC.

DEVELOPMENT
HOME AND GARDEN COMMITTEE
The Home & Garden Show provides members with an outlet to promote their businesses to the general public. The Committee plans and coordinates all aspects of running the home and garden show. This includes finding a location, getting an appropriate date, having sponsors, and promoting the event. This event is one of the larger fundraisers for our organization.

- Meeting Time: start meetings in November and end in April; the meetings will be once a month until 2 months out then goes to twice a month.
MAME COMMITTEE (Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence)
The annual MAME Event (Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence) supports and advances the membership of our association by producing an awards presentation that recognizes the superior accomplishments of local builders, developers and associates. The event encourages involvement with the submission of significant achievements by its members and the promotion of them within our industry and to the community.
PARADE OF HOMES COMMITTEE
Coordinates the Annual Parade of Homes (a major fund raising event for the HBA), determines sites, monitors developments of sites/adherence to Parade rules, coordinates builder selection, monitors budget and promotion. Members are appointed by the Chair.

REMODELED HOMES TOUR COMMITTEE
The Remodeled Homes Tour provides Remodeler members with an outlet to promote remodeled homes to the general public. The Committee coordinates the annual Remodeled Homes Tour, determines sites, and monitors developments of sites and adherence to Tour rules, coordinates builder selection, monitors budget and promotion. The chairman and HBA staff appoints members.

HBA CARES
This charitable foundation was established by HBA members to help connect the needs of our community to the resources available within the housing and building industry.
