Benefits of Becoming an HBA Member
Overview
Once You Become A Member of the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs, you are entitled to the many benefits of membership. Here are a few of the opportunities available to you as an HBA member…
HBA Homefront & Mailing Labels
Let your customers know you’re an HBA member by using the HBA logo on your ads and business materials. Members can also obtain mailing labels of HBA members for a nominal fee or an electronic list at no charge.
Networking
Through the HBA’s numerous membership meetings, Council and Committee system, you have the opportunity to network with your peers and stay abreast of the latest changes within the building industry. See the Committees/Councils section for a description of each committee and the regular meeting dates and times. Participating on a committee is a great way to get involved and make new contacts!
Educational Opportunities
By attending the many valuable educational programs offered throughout the year, members can improve skills and gain more knowledge about business and the construction industry.
Special Events
High impact events such as the Home & Garden Show, Parade of Homes, MAME Awards, and the CAHB and NAHB conventions allow our members to promote their products, themselves and the industry.
Publications
As a member of the HBA, you receive a subscription to Colorado Builder magazine from the state association (CAHB) and Professional Builder from NAHB. The NAHB also distributes a directory including more than 500 programs, products, services and staff experts to provide you with valuable information. Sales & Marketing Council members receive Sales & Marketing Ideas magazine and Remodelors Council members receive Professional Remodelor magazine - both are national publications.
Locally you receive a subscription to The HOMEFRONT, the monthly newsletter of the HBA providing you with up-to-date information on local issues and events. We also create a monthly supplement in the Colorado Springs Business Journal called On The Level, this is designed to educate the business community on issues that affect the industry. We encourage members to write articles for this publication. The HBA membership directory is published annually and is designed as a daily working tool, listing company names, addresses, phone numbers, and contact names, as well as useful resources such as the Buyers Guide, and local government/organizations contact information.
Internet Resources
Use the HBA Web site (www.cshba.com) as your constant resource for information - calendar of special events and committee meetings, up-to-date member information, current government affairs issues, links to related sites (i.e. Regional Building Department, Economic Development Corporation, Chamber of Commerce), Homefront articles, advertising information and much more! Through cshba.com you can also access the state and national Web sites, providing you with valuable industry information and resource all at your fingertips!
Promotion
There are many opportunities for promoting your company’s products and services. Banner ads are currently available here on our Web site. Advertising in The HOMEFRONT magazine is offered to HBA members and is one of the best opportunities to reach your target audience - the construction industry. Other print advertising opportunities include the Membership Directory, Home & Garden Show program, and Parade of Homes magazine. Invite your peers and the residents of Southern Colorado to learn about your business! As a member of HBA you are invited to market your business online with CSHBA.COM. Increase your exposure and support the industry through numerous sponsorship opportunities throughout the year, including membership meetings, special events, golf tournament, and award programs.
Government Affairs
A number of committees along with HBA staff monitor the Colorado Springs area for issues affecting the building industry. Our strong membership provides the Association with the force necessary to influence local, state and national officials. These very active committees strive to stay current on important issues in order to keep our members informed.
Public Relations
The HBA works through the local media to promote the image of our members and our industry while creating awareness of the positive impact our members are making in the community.
Insurance Programs
As a member of the HBA, you qualify for the CAHB ProBuilders General Liability program.
