Purchasing & Estimating Coordinator - Campbell Homes

Job Description:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in Excel, Timberline, HMS, Precision Estimating.
  • Basic knowledge of reading plans.
  • Ability to read and understand bids from trade partners.
  • Basic knowledge of construction stages and scheduling.
  • Basic knowledge of vendors/tasks involved in various options.

  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Operates with a sense of urgency, Results driven
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
  • Must be detailed oriented, accurate and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Must have good phone skills and be able to work well with trade partners
Education or Formal Training
  • College degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working with the Timberline/HMS Estimating Software.
  • Minimum 2 year experience in residential construction (purchasing and estimating department preferred)
Estimating Database
  • Coordinates bids needed for database.
  • Transfer option costs/trade partner data into purchase order database
  • Maintains current subcontractor and material supplier lists & files.
  • Process & analyze price changes before data entry.
  • Systematically release purchase orders for all base house and options
  • Maintain bid sheets for all subcontractors.
  • Research and resolve inaccurate cost data.
  • Assist in pricing of custom options for sales staff.
Budgeting
  • Vendor price comps.
  • Assist in maintaining individual house budgets.
  • Budgeting of new starts for approval.
  • Budgeting of Change Orders for approval.
  • Auto pay of purchase orders.
  • Variance purchase orders from field.
Vendor Relations
  • Distribution of new sub packages
  • Lost PO’s (Reprints)
  • Variance PO’s
  • Assist in bidding process
Accounting
  • Check invoices against purchase orders against bids
  • Do necessary research to verify work done & avoid overpayment
Information Technology
  • Research technologies best suited for the company.
  • Assist in Implementation of new technologies. HMS Sales/Scheduling Software.
  • Assist in Building a database for Customer Service tracking.
  • Assist in maintaining all of the company’s computers.
  • Use technologies to streamline work flow process.
